Art Camps
Camps as a Living Lab of Play, Nature & Creativity
Creative Nature NYC offers nature-based art camps where children learn through curiosity, collaboration, and making. Our Living Lab approach invites children to explore outdoors, ask questions, build friendships, and develop their own creative voice—guided by artists and educators who listen deeply.

What Makes Our Camps Different
• Learning emerges from children’s curiosity
We don’t follow a fixed curriculum. Projects grow from children’s questions, interests, and ideas—treated as real hypotheses and experiments.
• Nature is our collaborator
Parks, weather, natural and recycled materials shape each day. Outdoor exploration is central, not an add-on.
• Play builds friendships and dialogue
Children collaborate, negotiate, and learn to listen through shared attention, unstructured play, and collective making.
• Art, science, and invention blur together
Drawing, sculpture, movement, storytelling, and material exploration flow naturally across disciplines.
• Children develop self-agency and voice
We value choice, autonomy, and creative authorship—supporting children in shaping their own learning paths.
• Inspired by Reggio Emilia practice
Our artist-educators document children’s thinking and return it to the group, making learning visible, reflective, and shared.

Michael, Amy's dad (age 5)
My child formed real friendships and came home proud of their ideas and creations. The program is beautifully organized, and the educators thoughtfully support children as they develop their own creative projects and explore new art materials.
