Creative Nature NYC Living Lab
Creative Nature After School: Evergreen Art Explorers is a small mixed-age afterschool program where children explore art, nature, movement, storytelling, and creative inquiry.
The program is designed especially for PS 88 students, creating a smooth transition from school dismissal into an afternoon of outdoor exploration, creative projects, and community building.
We also welcome other families from the neighborhood who are looking for a meaningful, nature-based afterschool experience.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, develop their ideas, and express themselves through many forms of creativity.
A place where children can wonder, create, move, and belong.

Children will spend afternoons exploring Evergreen Park and creating indoors at Stone Circle Theatre. The combination of outdoor exploration and studio experiences provides a flexible environment for creativity, movement, and inquiry.
Ages
Mixed-age program for children ages 3–9
(Pre-K 3 through 4th Grade)
Children learn alongside peers of different ages, creating opportunities for collaboration, friendship, leadership, and shared discovery.

Mondays and Thursdays

Monday sessions: September 14 – December 14
Thursday sessions: September 10 – December 17
The program follows the NYC school calendar and does not meet on school holidays, school closures, or scheduled days off. Dates will be adjusted accordingly.
Student Pickup Process
Creative Nature NYC has a clear and safe pick-up system for enrolled children. Families complete authorization forms that allow our staff to pick up their children from school. Our team arrives before dismissal, checks attendance, meets children at the designated pick-up area following PS 88 procedures, and safely walks with the group to Evergreen Park for outdoor play and exploration, and to Stone Circle Theatre for creative projects, art-making, and indoor activities.
Enrollment & Group Size
Creative Nature After School: Evergreen Art Explorers is a small community program with a maximum capacity of 17 children.
The program is designed especially for PS 88 students and families. Priority enrollment will be given to PS 88 families.
If spaces remain available, enrollment may open to other families or schools
Semester commitment required. No drop-in enrollment.
Weather Plan
In the event of inclement weather, children will be picked up from PS 88 and brought directly to our indoor space at Stone Circle Theatre. Families will receive a notification that morning
Attendance, Weather & Program Changes
Tuition is non-refundable for absences, illness, family cancellations, or circumstances outside of Creative Nature NYC’s control.
Creative Nature NYC may adjust activities, locations, or schedules when needed for safety or operational reasons. If severe weather or an official weather advisory from local authorities makes it unsafe to operate, the session will be canceled and families will be notified as early as possible.
For light rain or mild weather conditions, the program will continue as scheduled. Families will be informed and asked to send children with appropriate rain gear, including raincoats, rain boots, and umbrellas if needed. On rainy days, children will transition directly from school pick-up to our indoor program space and will not go to Evergreen Park.

Early Bird Discount
Register between July 28 and August 28 and receive our early bird rate of $65 per session.
After August 28, tuition is $70 per session.
